Dressed Up Comfy
I wore this outfit a few weeks ago (I know, I'm behind...) during one of my first few weeks at work. While out to lunch at one of Pittsburgh's food truck roundups, one of my colleagues saw one of our very fashionable interns walk by and mentioned that the newbies were making her feel like she needed to dress up more for our very casual office environment (H, L, you ladies rock). Then added that we would eventually catch on and wear more comfortable clothes in time. To which my response was something along the lines that actually I was, in fact, way more comfortable in this ensemble than even a pair of jeans AND putting it together was effortless. Now that's my kind of look. It's not always that easy to achieve a "dressed up comfy" look, but I think the simpler the better.
Take this outfit, for example. It requires no work except a few buttons and a tie. It's universally flattering on nearly all figures. It's a nice blend of pattern, solids, and comfortable textures. And it's appropriate for the temperature and environment. #winning
