Classic Peplum with a Twist
I've been eyeing up this ponte peplum blouse for a while now, so when it was marked down and had an additional 60% off, I had to snag it up. I wore it out one evening with this fabulous gold necklace, but I wanted to try something new for work the other day. Even though one wouldn't normally try to layer with peplum--the bottom flare probably deters people--I found it to be so different and fun.
Initially I had a colorful oxford on underneath, but I decided that a classic black and white silhouette would be much better for what I had in mind. I just love how it peeks out from underneath the peplum! I threw on this two-stranded silver necklace (that used to be three strands . . . oops) and some earrings and flats and called it a day. I felt classic and pretty all day.
I think this is a nice twist on what would typically be a "preppy" outfit; the peplum makes it more feminine, which is a little more "me." Wearing a classic peplum with a twist has given me a little bit more direction in how I want to structure my wardrobe going forward.
How is everyone doing so far this new year? I have felt pretty good about things for the most part, but I am still eager for some changes. There's so much to think about and a lot to consider, especially when it comes to career changes and potential grad school plans. I've been trying to listen for God's direction in those little moments of clarity and having more confidence in where I'm going. What do you do when you're stuck in transition?
