Warm Up A Little
Remember a little over a year ago I got highlights and they made me a blonde, but then I got it toned down and all was good? Well, these highlights have grown out SUPERBLY and I've been really happy with them, but now that it's been over a year, I was at the point where I needed a change. Even though my hair was sporting a bit of an ombre effect, I was ready to even things out and warm things up a little!
You might have noticed in my Sweater Weather vlog, but if you didn't, then that means I picked a good color! Ashlie and I dyed our hair about a week and a half ago--it was my first time doing my own color and my first time doing an all-over color. I was SO nervous, but I am so pleased with the result. I used a semi-permanent so that I wouldn't overcommit.
There's research out there that talks about how hair changes can reflect a dramatic change in a woman's life (Lauren from Style Elixir recently posted about this). I've never dramatically changed my hair before, but I think this is so true! Even though I just warmed my color to a more chocolately brown (instead of a mousy brown with brassy highlights, ew.), I kind of felt like a whole new woman. It's reflective of my desire to start fresh and anew! I'm so looking forward to 2014 and saying GOODBYE to this year.
It's amazing how your confidence can soar when you change-up something little. I put together this outfit and felt great wearing it. Do you remember this skirt? I transformed a dress into this skirt a few months ago and I am excited to show you how it can be worn both in summer AND in fall.
