We are currently in the heart of sweater season right now and I finally broke out my obnoxious polka dot sweater. Here's how I wore it last year. I remember when I saw it in Old Navy and fell in love with it, but now I look at it and wish the dots were scaled smaller. Somehow I feel the bigger dots make it a little too whimsical and in-your-face.

I am determined, however, to work my closet and remix as much as possible to make everything more wearable. I decided to go the pattern mixing route by layering a striped cotton top underneath. The pattern was subtle enough next to the polka dots that I thought it worked really well together. I felt very Penn State-esque, which I suppose is really convenient around these parts. On a completely unrelated note, I just had a very interesting weekend to say the least. I was able to spend some time at home which was nice, even though I felt kind of crappy. On Friday, I drove up to Westminster to see some friends and it was a really fun time. There were not enough hours in the day to see everyone and do everything I wanted to do, but I tried to make the most of it. I felt kind of like "that alum" since this is already my third visit back this year; I know, I'm so lame, but this time was different from the previous two!

I only got maybe three or four hours of sleep when I had to make the drive to be ready for work at noon. I was able to take a quick nap before leaving, but about two minutes before I left for LOFT, I had this wave of nausea come over me. I knew this was not going to be good. I went anyway and as luck would have it, I ended up throwing up at work several times. #classy. #sorryifthisistmi. I tried really hard not to let it affect my work and tried to continue on, but when I was only two hours in and had thrown up maybe nine times, I knew I had to go home. And naturally, as soon as I did, I felt a lot better. Moral of the story? SLEEP IS YOUR FRIEND. Your body WILL revolt if you don't treat it right.
