Oxford: NY & Company (Goodwill) Sweater: Old Navy Jeans: LOFT Flats: Payless Necklace: Forever 21
I'll admit that these pictures were taken at the end of the day when my top got all sloppy and stretched out, so I apologize for not giving you the "full effect." They were also taken against the wall of my closet that is attached to my bathroom, so if you want to have a laugh, just imagine the fact that I had a tripod in my bathroom and I've resorted to taking selfies in my closet. #pathetic Get used to it though, because it's getting freaking cold outside! My beautiful fall outdoorsy photos are coming to an end quickly. Le sigh.
Anyway, I bought this blue button down for the sole purpose of using it in a Rosie the Riveter Halloween costume. It's old-school New York & Company--like the tag was ancient--but it fits well and I was super pumped to debut it last weekend. But my friends were being bums and didn't want to dress up on Saturday when we went out (we were busy Thursday and Friday) so this officially became The First Year Ever I Didn't Dress Up for Halloween. I'mnotbitteroranything. But Ashlie and I DID dress to match each other on Halloween evening to pass out candy and if you follow me on Facebook, you had the privilege of witnessing our utter ridiculousness. I'm talking broomsticks and flying, people. Check it out. I'm prepared to show you the unfollow button if you can't handle it ;)
Back to the top. It's an interesting shade of blue because it's not quite chambray, but it isn't a blue blue either, you know? (I would prefer this to be a chambray. In fact, I am on the hunt for the perfect dark wash chambray oxford without breaking the bank. Any suggestions?) I was determined to make use of it despite the fact that it wouldn't be used for its original intention at least for another year. You know those outfits that make perfect sense in your head and even look pretty good when you first put them on but as the day goes on, they lack luster? That's how I felt about this outfit. I was all like "Yeah! This works! Look at this color combo wooooo!" as I went out of the door. But at work, I kept passing mirrors and thinking "Is this weird? I don't know if I like this." So I feel a bit meh about posting this, but I figure why not?
Before I go, I want to take a moment and say thank you. I've really been feeling the love on the blog recently and have received some incredible emails, comments, and messages from you, my amazing readers and supporters. I have been feeling so lost and hurt recently and you have really instilled a sense of purpose and hope in me that I can only hope to share with others. The truth is . . . I am truly blessed.
