Sandy Hook Snowflakes in the Classroom
Remember how I told you that people all over the world were making snowflakes for Sandy Hook to create a winter wonderland for the precious students? I even shared five awesome snowflake tutorials! Well, I thought I would update you . . .Due to the sheer amount of snowflakes they received, they sent out an announcement that they could no longer accept anymore! They had storage units full! Isn't that amazing? While that was very exciting, I was sad that my and my students' snowflakes would not make it to Sandy Hook. Instead, I decided I would hang them up to create our own winter wonderland in memory of the victims and to support the beautiful little ones. About two and a half hours later on Sunday, here's the end result in my senior high school classroom:
The pictures don't do it justice, but I am really happy with how they turned out. Of course, most of my seniors didn't even look up and wake up from their foggy stares enough to notice it, but it's the thought that counts, right? All together, my kiddos made over 215 snowflakes. Not bad for a bunch of 18-year-olds.
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! I want to hear what you've been up to all week! See some photos from my week on Insta-Friday here.
