This holiday season is very important to me, probably more so than ever. Even during college, I had an entire month off to celebrate Christmas with my family and friends. This year, however, I am on my own until right before December 25th.
Christmas allows us time to reflect on our lives and what we hope for our world and our future. Some wish for a fresh start--a blank slate--to start all over again. Some wish for gifts that will make their lives easier. Some wish for a special someone to make a move. This year, I wish to be home with my family. I worry that I will miss out on the traditions I have come to love, like making cookies, decorating the tree and the house, and wrapping gifts. Sure, I can do these things on my own, but it's the people who really make it special.
Because my time with my family and friends will be limited, I intend on making it as special as possible. I really want to show them how much I love and appreciate them and how grateful I am to be a part of their lives.
So what do you really want this holiday season? Sure, you might want that new Cricut or iPad 2 or Banana Republic gift card (who wouldn't?), but what would truly make your holiday season special? On December 7th, the holiday film Playing for Keeps will hit theaters asking viewers: "What are you playing for?"
Playing for Keeps is the romantic comedy event of the holiday season featuring an all-star cast including Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel, Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta- Jones, and Dennis Quaid.
Check out the synopsis:
Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel, Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Dennis Quaid star in “Playing For Keeps,” a romantic comedy about a charming, down-on-his luck former soccer star (Butler) who returns home to put his life back together. Looking for a way to rebuild his relationship with his son, he gets roped into coaching the boy’s soccer team. But his attempts to finally become an “adult” are met with hilarious challenges from the attractive “soccer moms” who pursue him at every turn. "Playing For Keeps" is directed by Gabriele Muccino, the director of "The Pursuit of Happyness."
I think this movie could be a great holiday favorite this season, helping us all remember the reason for the season. Happy holidays everyone!
