Teacher Tuesday 8.28.12
Hello everyone! I apologize for being so off and on with the blog the past few weeks, but I am finally moved in to my new place! I will be writing a post specifically on the move soon, so watch out for that. For today, Teacher Tuesday, I'd like to share a great classroom decor idea that I got from my friend Sam (check out her amazing poetry here!) that she saw during her student teaching. Her co-operating teacher purchased these fantastic literary movie posters from Teacher Discovery and displayed them a few days prior to teaching each novel. She would place them on a bulletin board with the words "Coming Attraction." Not only is it a clever idea to get students interested in what's to come, but the posters are also really awesome, unlike a lot of other classroom posters! In the movie credits at the bottom, there is a hidden literary joke, too.
You could totally go all out with this idea and place tube lights or christmas lights around each poster.
Have you seen these Farcebook posters, too?
I think that would be really cool for secondary students to give a snapshot about a particular author.
I would LOVE to see YOUR teacher outfits, crafts, DIY projects, lesson plans, strategies, and ideas! If you would like to participate in Teacher Tuesday, grab a button (in the sidebar) and add your link! Don't forget to link directly to your post! I will feature you in next week's Teacher Tuesday post :)
